Three people. One studio.

We’re Dot And Draft.
Three people, three stories.

A WordPress specialist, a writer and a Shopify developer. Here’s how each of us ended up building websites for small businesses.

WordPress.

I design and build WordPress websites, plus the social media posts and posters that go with them. By day I’m a project manager at a website development company — so I keep every project on track.

— Vinood Ask me about WordPress, website design and timelines.

Words.

I write the words — website copy, articles and everything in between — and make sure people can find them on Google. As a regional content specialist, I know how to speak to the people you want to reach.

— Shalini Ask me about copywriting, articles and SEO.

Shopify.

I’m our Shopify specialist — store builds and the custom code that themes can’t do. I also make our reels and posters, and work as a developer for a UK-based company.

— Naven Ask me about Shopify, custom code and reels.

It started with 1 website at a kitchen table. Since then, we’ve worked with 68 clients, launched 12 websites and published 532 pieces of content — and we’re still just 3 people.

01A dot.

Every project starts as an idea. Ours was a friend’s bakery that needed a website.

02A line.

We sketched it out around a kitchen table, over three weekends.

03A draft.

Word got round. Her neighbour asked next, then his cousin.

04Dot And Draft.

Now it has a name — and the three of us still work the same way.

Every project is handled by the three of us, from the first call to launch day.

The people behind the work.
No middlemen.

How We Work

From first message
to launch day.

No surprises. Here’s exactly what happens once you get in touch.

Step 1 of 5 · Day 1

Say hello

Send us a message or a WhatsApp. Tell us about your business and what isn’t working.

You
Tell us about your business and what you need.
Us
Reply within a day with honest first thoughts.

Step 2 of 5 · Week 1

A proper chat

A short call to understand your goals, your customers and your budget.

You
Share your goals, examples you like and your budget.
Us
Ask the right questions and suggest what you actually need.

Step 3 of 5 · Week 1

A clear proposal

A fixed price, a timeline and exactly what’s included — no surprises later.

You
Read it, ask anything, and say go.
Us
Put the price, timeline and scope in writing.

Step 4 of 5 · Weeks 2–5

Design, write, build

Vinood designs and builds, Shalini writes, Naven handles Shopify. You see progress every week.

You
Give feedback on each draft (two rounds of changes included).
Us
Design, write and build — with an update every week.

Step 5 of 5 · Week 6 +

Launch & look after

We launch, show you how to update it yourself, and stay on hand afterwards.

You
Give the final OK and learn the basics.
Us
Launch it, train you, and fix anything that comes up.

Timelines are for a typical website project. Content, SEO or Shopify work on its own may run on a different schedule — we’ll confirm yours in the proposal.

Who We’re For

We’re not for everyone.
And that’s fine.

Honest about who we work best with — it saves us both time.

A great fit if you…

  • Run a small business, shop or practice
  • Want a website or online store you can update yourself
  • Care how your brand sounds, not just how it looks
  • Want content that keeps working — blogs, SEO, newsletters
  • Like talking directly to the people doing the work

Probably not a fit if you…

  • Need a 200-page site live by Friday
  • Want the cheapest quote, whatever it takes
  • Need a big team on call around the clock
  • Aren’t ready to give feedback along the way
05

Why A Small Team

Not a freelancer.
Not an agency either.

The care of one person, the skills of a team.

One person

  • Direct and personal
  • Affordable
  • But one pair of hands
  • Usually one skill

The sweet spot: us

  • You talk to the people doing the work
  • WordPress, words and Shopify under one roof
  • Fair, fixed prices
  • Small enough to care, big enough to cover it all

A big agency

  • Every skill in-house
  • But layers of managers
  • Higher prices
  • You’re one client of many

Kind Words

Don’t just take
our word for it.

A few words from people we’ve worked with.

“They didn’t just build us a website — they figured out what we were actually trying to say. Enquiries doubled in two months.”

Aarrohi · Website + copy

“Every question got a real answer from the person doing the work. It never once felt like dealing with an agency.”

Herstory · Writing + content

“Our store finally does what we need it to, and we can update it ourselves. Sales are up and the stress is down.”

Hive Life · Shopify store

“The posts look like us and sound like us. People actually comment now.”

Ecoqueen · Social media
